Cattedrale Metropolitana di San Pietro, A Hidden Gem of Spiritual Magnificence

Via Indipendenza 7
4.3

Introduction

The City Cathedral is not located on the main square, but on a tall building on Indipendenza Road facing the main square. Unlike the surrounding colonnaded buildings, this iconic building has undergone several reconstructions. The interior decoration is rich and colorful, with traces of the former glory of the Catholic Church. Upon entering the cathedral, a vivid sculpture group called "The Death of Jesus" can be found on the right hand side. Compared to the San Blas Basilica, the City Cathedral has its own unique features and is worth a visit.
