Cathedral of Avila, A Majestic Fortress-Cathedral Blend

Plaza de la Catedral, 8, 05001 Ávila
4.1

Introduction

The Cathedral of Ávila, located on the east side of the Avila city wall in Spain, is a unique and magnificent building that not only functions as a cathedral, but also has the characteristics of a fortress. It is the first Gothic cathedral in Spain with a long history. The walnut wood choir stalls inside the Cathedral of Ávila are impressive, while the high ceiling of the courtyard appears even more solemn and dignified.
