Introduction

Puerta de Alcalá, located in the Independence Square, is a neoclassical building and one of the important landmarks in the center of Madrid, Spain. From the gate, you can reach the beautiful Retiro Park just a few meters away. Although Calle de Alcalá runs through the square, it does not pass through the door. North-south streets Alfonso XII and Serrano pass through the area. Puerta de Alcalá is named after an old road from Madrid to Alcalá de Henares.
