Introduction

Preacher's Rock in Hardanger, also known as the "Tongue of the Devil," is a massive boulder that hangs over the sea, towering over 1000 meters in height and strikingly impressive. In Norway, trolls are a common symbol, and this rock is shaped like a flat, elongated tongue of rock that extends high above the surface of the lake, inspiring fear in those who gaze upon it. The trek to the Tongue of the Devil from Tyssedal takes about 10 hours on foot, but the route is not suitable for elderly or young children.
