Introduction

The Kjosfossen waterfall is located at an altitude of 669 meters, 4.4 kilometers from Myrdal, and 15.6 kilometers from Flam. It is a spectacular and impressive waterfall. The waterfall originates from the waters of the Riongo Lake and forms after passing through a canal and power station. With a height of 93 meters, the abundant water tumbles down, creating a thundering sound that is truly awe-inspiring. During the summer, visitors can enjoy watching Huldra dance performances alongside the waterfall. Huldra is said to be a fairy who resides in the mountains in Nordic mythology, and her dance is both beautiful and alluring. Moreover, on a row of stone walls to the right of the waterfall, local folk music concerts offer visitors soft and melodious ballads, and the "mountain elves" dance in rhythm to the music.
