Introduction

7 kilometers south of Pontorson, there lies the Pontorson Notre-Dame Church, built in the 12th century. It is one of the masterpieces of Norman Romanesque architecture. On the left side of the altar inside the church, there is a sculpture of the crucifixion of Jesus from the 15th century, which suffered damage during the religious reformation and the French Revolution.
