Introduction

Lyon's Cathedral of St. John, built in 1170, combines medieval and Gothic architectural styles and is a must-see historical site. Inside the cathedral, there is a 15th-century astronomical clock. The clock chimes at precisely noon, 2 pm, 3 pm, and 4 pm every day, and the little figures inside perform, adding to the charm. The cathedral is located at the foot of Fourvière Hill in the Vieux Lyon (Old Lyon) district. This area showcases the architecture of the European Renaissance period, with churches like St. George, St. John, and St. Paul displaying masterpieces of Lyon's Renaissance era. The pedestrian streets in the old town are particularly enchanting.
