Introduction
The Imperial Monument, located in the center of Berlin, Germany, was built in 1877 to commemorate the Franco-Prussian War and the birth of the German Empire. Completed in 1883, this 38-meter-high monument features a 10-meter-tall statue of the goddess Germania at the top, symbolizing the German Empire. She holds a sword in her left hand and raises a crown in her right hand, wearing an oak wreath symbolizing victory and glory on her head. The upper part of the monument's pedestal is carved with the Imperial Eagle and the coats of arms of the 22 states of the German Empire at that time. Standing at the right corner of the pedestal is the God of Peace, holding a bountiful horn and an olive branch symbolizing abundance and peace. On the left corner stands the God of War, clutching a sword tightly in his right hand, with the horn of war already blown in his mouth. The overall theme of the monument echoes the important themes of war and peace. Address 65385 Rüdesheim am Rhein, Germany
