Introduction

Münster Cathedral is the most representative building in Münster's historic district. It is situated on the tombs of two Roman soldiers who sacrificed themselves to defend the city and were later honored as the city's patron saints. Despite its typical Gothic style, the cathedral still preserves beautiful ancient Romanesque cloisters.
