Introduction

The art treasures located in the State Art Museum cover works from the 14th to the 20th century, including works by famous masters such as Angelico, Tintoretto, Rembrandt, Rubens, Manet, Monet, Renoir, and Cézanne. The museum consists of both the old art gallery, built in 1843, and the new art gallery, expanded in 1984. The new gallery features facilities such as lecture halls, cafés, theaters, and a music academy to cater to different needs. To address the height difference between the two sides of the site, Stirling's design ingeniously incorporates a slope into the outdoor leisure area of the building, creating a beautiful promenade that connects the old and new art galleries, attracting visitors from both sides of the city. The overall design combines classical and modern art, immersing people in the beauty of art.
