Introduction

In 1746, Leopoldo Retti began construction of the New Palace, which is filled with French influences. Later, the Parisian architect Guêpière took over the construction. Finally, between 1805 and 1807, Nicolaus von Thouret completed the construction of the palace. Originally a royal residence, the central part of the palace is now used for large-scale events hosted by the state government. The wings house the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Culture, and the White Hall. Among them, the White Hall is one of the most beautiful concert halls in Stuttgart.
