Introduction

The ancient city of Nesebar is located on a rocky peninsula along the Black Sea coast, with a history dating back over 3000 years. The original inhabitants were the Thracians, and in the early 6th century BC, it became a Greek colony. Most of the city's ruins date back to the ancient Greek period, including the acropolis, Apollo temple, square, and a wall left by the Thracians in the fortress. Additionally, the Old Stara Mitropolia Basilica and some fortresses built during the medieval period are important historical sites, as this was once one of the major Byzantine towns on the western coast of the Black Sea. The wooden houses built in the 19th century reflect the typical architectural features of the Black Sea region at that time.
