Introduction

St. Patrick's Cathedral is one of the two oldest medieval churches in Dublin and is also known as the Protestant Cathedral of Dublin. It is located in the heart of medieval Dublin, at the end of Lord Edward Street. The cathedral has undergone two major restorations, from 1871 to 1878 and from 1980 to 1982. As the worship center of the United Dioceses, the cathedral is also the venue for many annual celebrations. Additionally, there is a stone bridge on the west side of the cathedral, which is integrated with the cathedral and connects to the Synod Hall. The Synod Hall houses the Old St. Michael's Tower, which now serves as the venue for the Dublinia exhibition showcasing the history of medieval Dublin.
