Introduction

Yilan Administration Museum was originally the official residence of Yilan county's leaders. The park is surrounded by lush trees, with a notable hundred-year-old camphor tree. In order to preserve the old tree and leave a historical witness to Yilan's political development, the county government initiated the South Gate Plan. This plan not only preserved the large tree but also renovated the century-old official residence. The museum opened in 1997, showcasing the historical process of the county's governance since the Qing Dynasty. This memorial museum injects new life into the historical space and has become an important cultural heritage of Yilan.
