Introduction
Sand Island is a small bay located near Provincial Highway 26, between Guanshan and Banana Bay. This ecological preservation area covers approximately 3 hectares, with a length of 290 meters, width of 100 meters, and a depth of about 45 meters, sloping at approximately 10 degrees. In the early days, the accumulation of sandy soil on the beach formed a small island-like scene, hence the name "Sand Island." The beautiful shell sand on the island once sparked a sand excavation craze. To protect this pristine land, it was designated as an ecological conservation area, and excavation is prohibited. Additionally, a "Shell Sand Exhibition Hall" has been constructed, featuring a shell sand touch area and microscopes to allow visitors to better appreciate the charm of shell sand.
