Introduction

On May 1, 1983, Rua do Cunha in Macau became the first pedestrian-only zone, decorated and modified by the government. This area later became a popular tourist spot, as many souvenir shops, eateries, and dessert shops are concentrated here. Many visitors would taste food on Rua do Cunha and Rua do Regedor, and watch the "Goddess of Mercy Fountain" in front of Leal Senado Square, which is a drinking water fountain with a French Renaissance style.
