Introduction

Uluwatu Cliff, also known as Lover's Cliff, has a story about two young lovers who chose to jump off the cliff to end their forbidden love due to their families' opposition. The sea beneath the cliff has strong waves, making it a popular surfing spot for surfers from all over the world. It is said that in ancient times, sailors on a ship offended the sea god, who then created the cliff in the shape of a ship's bow and threw the ship towards the shore with giant waves. The 11th-century Sea Temple is located on top of the cliff, entirely made of hard granite, facing the turbulent sea. The traditional dance performance at the temple at 6 pm is a must-see for tourists. However, be cautious of the mischievous monkeys in the area who may try to snatch hats, glasses, or food from visitors. Most shops, restaurants, and hotels accept UnionPay cards starting with "62," but if you encounter a merchant without the "UnionPay" logo, you can proactively inquire if UnionPay cards are accepted.
