Introduction

Natchaphon Royal Garden is a beautiful royal garden located in Mae Hia district, approximately 8 kilometers from Chiang Mai Airport. It successfully hosted the International Horticultural Exposition in 2006. Since December 2009, the Highland Research and Development Institute has taken over the management of the area and transformed it into an international research base for horticulture. The garden features a villa area for the Thai king and his entourage, the Queen's favorite rose garden, and a large fountain pool. The palace is closed to the public when the Thai king visits for a summer retreat.
