Introduction

Eji Lake is located in northern Mongolia, at the southern foot of the Daxiyan Mountains and adjacent to the border between Mongolia and Russia. The entire lake covers an area of 2,620 square kilometers and has a depth of over 244 meters, making it Mongolia's largest freshwater lake. The lake's water source is from the Eji River, which flows southward. Additionally, the lake is surrounded by arid grasslands, rolling hills, and pleasant scenery.

Ulaanbaatar can be reached by plane or long-distance bus to Murun City, and there are minibuses from Murun to Hatgal. The journey from Moron to Hatgal is about 100 kilometers, and the charter price is generally 80000MNT (August 2015). During the tourist season (July/August/September), it is easier to hitchhike on the road from Moron to Hatgal, and it is recommended to share the cost of gasoline voluntarily (15000~20000MNT is enough).
