Introduction

Akama Shrine, located in Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, is a Shinto shrine that was once an official imperial shrine (now a separate shrine within the shrine headquarters). The shrine is dedicated to Emperor Antoku, who died in the Battle of Dan-no-ura. Additionally, due to the nearby grave of the Taira clan, it is also a famous place for supernatural stories, with many people discussing the legend of "Mimi Nashi Hoichi".
