Introduction

Three Edo-period teahouse streets have been preserved in Kanazawa: Nishi Chaya District, Higashi Chaya District, and Kazuemachi. These streets are lined with historic teahouse buildings and are connected by stone-paved roads. Among them, Higashi Chaya District is the largest. It is a great place to experience the local tea culture.
