Introduction

The Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts, located in Tennōji Park on the Chausuyama Corner, has preserved its splendid history and beautiful architecture since its first public opening in May 1936. The museum, which was once the Sumitomo family's residence, now showcases colorful paintings and exquisite ceramics along its long corridor under soft lighting. It houses approximately 8,500 Japanese and Chinese artworks, including many important cultural treasures. The museum, along with the renowned Keitaku-en Garden, was donated by the Sumitomo family and became the present-day Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts. We welcome you to explore this beautiful building and its precious collections.
