Introduction

Toei Kyoto Studio Park is the only theme park in Japan where visitors can experience the movie and TV filming locations firsthand. It is the dedicated Edo-era outdoor set of Toei Kyoto Studio, preserving the sets of all Toei films and TV dramas, with nearly 200 TV drama productions filmed there each year. The sets, including streets from the Edo and Meiji periods, samurai residences, Nihonbashi, and the Yoshiwara pleasure district, present visitors with a realistic and vivid historical backdrop. Additionally, facilities such as the Cinema Museum, outdoor shooting stages, a schoolhouse, and a dress-up gallery introduce visitors to Japanese film history and culture, showcasing special effects techniques and the lifestyle of the Edo era. The site also regularly features period drama fight scene performances and interactive experiences for visitors, such as handshake events and exhibitions of movie costumes and props. Furthermore, as Toei's period dramas are primarily filmed here, visitors may have the chance to witness actual movie and TV show shooting scenes.
