Introduction

Daigoji is a headquarters temple of the Daigo branch of the Shingon sect and located in Daigo, Fushimi-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. The mountain name of the temple is Mount Daigo, and the principal image worshiped is Yakushi Nyorai, established by the founder Rigen Daishi Shobou. Daigoji is famous for the "Daigo Hanami" (Cherry blossom viewing festival) held here by Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
