Introduction

In 1964, the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre was established. The centre covers an area of 45 square kilometers and is the largest orangutan conservation area in the world. Here, you can observe endangered animals such as the Sumatran rhinoceros up close. The tourist routes within the centre are all built with wooden boardwalks, and it only takes about 10 minutes to walk from the entrance to the viewing platform. From the platform, you can enjoy watching orangutans play on platforms between two trees, swinging on branches and ropes. Every day at 10 am and 3 pm, visitors can also watch the orangutans being fed for 15 to 30 minutes.
