Introduction

Guanlin gets its name from the place where the head of Guan Gong, a famous ancient Chinese general, was buried. It was built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty and later expanded during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It currently covers an area of one hundred mu. Guanlin is the only ancient classical architecture in China that combines tomb, temple, and forest worship. The architectural specifications are in the form of a palace with a strict and spectacular layout. Among them, the most unique is the dance tower. In addition, there are numerous stone tablets, ancient cypresses, and prosperous temples. Every year on September 29th, the Guanlin International Pilgrimage Ceremony is held here, attracting Guan Temple believers and relatives from all over the world to participate in grand worship activities.
