Introduction

The Xiaogou Background Area is located in Shaoyuan Town, Jiyuan City, at the junction of Shanxi and Henan provinces in the northwest of China. To the east lies the Wangwu Mountain National Scenic Area, while to the west it borders with Yuanqu County in Shanxi. In the south, it is adjacent to the Xiaolangdi Yellow River Three Gorges, and across the river lies Luoyang, an ancient capital city. To the north, it is adjacent to the primitive forest of the Taihang Mountains and Yangcheng County in Shanxi. This area is the essence of the Wangwu Mountain World Geopark and is also known as the "hometown of Chinese Nuwa myth" and a national intangible cultural heritage.
