Introduction
The Jinci Temple is located at the foothill of Mount Xuanweng in the southwest of Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, China. It is a historical and cultural heritage site integrating ancient sacrificial architecture, gardens, sculptures, murals, and stone carvings. The temple is dedicated to Jiyu, the first marquis of the state of Jin during the Western Zhou Dynasty. It boasts abundant cultural relics, including over 100 buildings from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, over 100 sculptures, more than 30 pieces of cast art, over 400 inscriptions, over 200 couplets of poems and inscriptions, and 30 ancient trees over a thousand years old. It is rare to find so many exquisite cultural relics in a single heritage site. The Jinci Temple has high historical, artistic, scientific, and appreciation value. It is one of the most representative examples of combining ancestral temple architecture and gardening art in Chinese history, with the longest history. Due to its outstanding cultural and architectural value, it has been designated as a key national cultural heritage site and a national AAAA-level tourist attraction by the State Council and the National Tourism Administration, respectively.
