Introduction

The mysterious Tianshan Great Canyon is located next to the 217 National Road in the northern part of Kuqa County, with an altitude of about 1600 meters and a distance of about 72 km from the county seat. The entire canyon is composed of reddish-brown mountains, known as Kezilya among the locals (meaning "red cliff" in Uyghur). The main valley of the canyon is about 2.7 km long, with 4 branches, and a total length of about 3 km. This mysterious canyon was formed by millions of years of erosion and floods, and combines majesty, danger, serenity and divinity. The cliff about 1.4 km from the gorge mouth to the Aiyi cave has Han dynasty wall paintings, adding to the beauty of the Tianshan Great Canyon. Visiting tourists cannot help but marvel at its magnificence.
