Introduction

The highest point in North China, Beitaiyedou Peak, is devoted to the Pure Skilful Lord Manjusri Bodhisattva, and is known as the "roof of North China". What makes this place unique is the opportunity to view snowscapes, with snowfall starting from August of the lunar calendar each year. Standing at the summit and looking down, the snow-covered mountains create a picturesque scene. In addition, visitors can also enjoy the cloud and mist scenery that resembles Lushan Mountain, as well as the stunning Buddhist-light landscape. Although the climate at the top is extremely cold, snow usually doesn't fall until September, and the snowy season often lasts until April. However, the shaded side of the peak is layered with ice and snow that doesn't melt year-round, known as "the ice of ten thousand years".
