Introduction

Beidaihe Wetland Park is one of the largest urban wetlands in China, and has identified 412 bird species, accounting for one-third of the total number of bird species in China. It is a well-known "bird watching paradise". In order to effectively protect the ecological resources of Beidaihe Wetland and provide high-quality habitats for birds to restore their original ecological functions, the restoration project of Beidaihe Wetland was launched, covering an area of more than 700 acres. The restoration project mainly includes the demolition of illegal buildings, increasing the variety of plant species in the area, and enhancing the connection and interaction between the wetlands, the New River, and the surrounding waters. After the project is completed, the ecological landscape, forests, water systems and water quality of Beidaihe Wetland, as well as the habitat environment of birds, will be properly managed and controlled, which will have a positive effect on improving the coastal ecological environment of Beidaihe district.
