Introduction

The current capital of Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture was originally the State-owned 221 Factory located on the Jinshatan Grassland in the northeast of Haiyan County, with a distance of 9km from the county town and an average altitude of 3210m. It was once the "Atomic City" where the first atomic bomb and hydrogen bomb were developed. There are now shuttle buses to Xihai Town in Haiyan County. As it is located in the west of Qinghai Lake, it is the starting point of the East Tour around Qinghai Lake by bike, and there are many bicycle clubs in the town, with Cavalry Camp being the most famous. Nowadays, the Atomic City preserves relics such as burial pits and blasting experiment sites and is visited by tourists as the "number one pit in Asia".
