Introduction

The Temple of Heaven is a special altar used by emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties to offer sacrifices and pray for good harvests and rain. It consists of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests and the Imperial Vault of Heaven, among other structures, showcasing intricate architectural designs like the Echo Wall and the Three Echo Stones. Visitors typically enter through the South Gate and tour the Altar of Circular Heaven, the Imperial Vault of Heaven, the Danbi Bridge, the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, and the Imperial Palace, before exiting through the North or East Gate. In April each year, the blooming of the Chinese liang xia orchids creates a rustic atmosphere in the Temple of Heaven, allowing tourists to experience the beauty of nature amidst the city.
