Introduction

Green Island Lighthouse is located in Zhongliao Village in the northwest of Green Island, near the Nose Head Cape on the coast of the island's airport. The lighthouse was built to commemorate the sinking of the President Hoover in December 1937 and to thank the island's residents for their brave rescue efforts. The tower is 33.3 meters high, with a pure white cylindrical structure that emits the best guide for ships at sea at night, while the sea surface below the tower is dotted with many reefs, creating a spectacular scenery. The Green Island Lighthouse has 150 stairs, flashes twice with white light every 10 seconds, with an intensity of up to one million candlepower, an output of 100 watts, and a coverage range of up to 100 nautical miles. From the top of the tower, the beautiful scenery of the entire island can be seen. The lighthouse not only witnesses the brave actions of the residents of Green Island, but also becomes one of the most famous tourist attractions on the island.
