Introduction

This cave is located at the bottom of the Lebanon Mountains, 20 kilometers north of Beirut. It is unique and spectacular, with the reputation of being one of the world's seven natural wonders. The domed ceiling of this Romanesque church-like cave is about 80 meters high and was formed over millions of years by water erosion. It is a typical representative of karst landforms.
