Introduction

Kunlun Pass is a must-pass route connecting Qinghai and Gansu to Tibet, and is also a major difficulty on the Qinghai-Tibet Highway. Located at an altitude of 4767 meters, Kunlun Pass is the first challenge for most travelers to overcome altitude sickness. In addition, on the south side of Kunlun Pass stands the Kunlun Pass Monument and the Jiesang Sonam Dargye Monument, honoring the excellent son of the Tibetan people who sacrificed to protect the wild animals in Kekexili.

Transportation
The Kunlun Mountain Pass is located in the middle section of the Kunlun Mountains, 160 kilometers south of Golmud. Starting from Golmud, the price of chartering a car to visit the Kunlun Mountains and surrounding areas is around 400-500 yuan, and it is possible to also visit Yuzhu Peak and the Sonam Dargye Protection Station.
