Fly the airplane: fulfill the pilot's addiction

There are many places in New Zealand where you can fly planes, but most people choose to fly in Wanaka. Wanaka is quiet and relaxed, making it a great place for a vacation. You can fly a plane here and soar over Lake Wanaka, flying over the Southern Alps with stunning scenery.

Wanaka

Flying in Wanaka doesn't require any experience because you'll be accompanied by experienced pilots. The planes have two sets of controls, so if you don't feel like flying or encounter any issues, the instructor can take control. Learn to Fly focuses more on professional flight training, with prices ranging from 750-1750RMB; U-Fly offers more of a sightseeing and flying experience, with prices ranging from 900-2100RMB. U-Fly generally has three different routes to choose from, with varying flight times and corresponding sightseeing opportunities. The 20-minute route (Green Line) covers classic landmarks such as Wanaka Lake, Hawea Lake, and the surrounding mountains. The 30-minute route (Blue Line) has a larger scope, including Wanaka Lake and its four islands. The 50-minute route (Red Line) covers everything from Wanaka Lake to Matukituki Valley, Glenorchy Bay, ski resorts, Aspiring Mountain World Heritage Park, waterfalls, and more, with breathtaking scenery throughout the journey.
