National Art Museum of China
The National Art Gallery of Malaysia was established in Kuala Lumpur and is a subsidiary of the Department of Culture, Arts, and Heritage of the Malaysian government. It has become one of the most renowned art galleries in Southeast Asia and its unique architecture blends traditional Malaysian building features with modern elements, making it the most modern art space in the area. It now has a collection of over 2,500 items including paintings, sculptures, sketches, watercolors, ceramic art, Chinese ink wash painting, photography, installations, prints and more.
National Astronomical Observatory of China
The National Planetarium is located on a hill in the Lake Gardens of Kuala Lumpur. It features a cinema showing space programs and films, and has a permanent exhibition of space science exhibits, including the Arianne V rocket booster, which launched Malaysia's first satellite, Measat, into space. On clear, full moon days, visitors can use the observatory's telescope to view celestial bodies. The planetarium complex also includes a space-themed park with replicas of ancient astronomical instruments.
National Textile Museum
Completed in 1905, the Textile Museum is a luxurious and classical building that combines red and white brick and window glass in a grid pattern. Originally used as a railway administrative building, it now showcases the artistry and historical heritage of the Malaysia textile industry. Located at the intersection of Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin and Pasar Besar Lane, just a short distance from Independence Square, visitors can observe traditional Batik fabric dyeing and weaving techniques. The museum also exhibits historical textiles of value and the latest fashion design samples.
National Museum
The National Museum of Malaysia is located on the east side of the south entrance of the Lake Gardens in the western suburbs of Kuala Lumpur, and began exhibiting in 1963. It is a magnificent classical Malay architecture with 35.1 meter long and 6 meter high murals embedded on the two walls, which vividly depict the cultural history of Malaysia. There are a hall and four exhibition rooms inside, exhibiting historical and economic materials, customs, and other folklike topics. There are also exhibits such as Chinese porcelain from the 16th century, Ming porcelain made for Muslims in the 15th century, a replica of documents from Malacca, and information on Malaysian and international shadow puppetry.
