Hongshi Gorge is a truly deserving name. The entire gorge consists of red cliffs, representing a rare Danxia landform canyon landscape in northern China, with cliffs displaying a vibrant red color. Hongshi Gorge combines beauty, elegance, grandeur, and steepness, integrating springs, waterfalls, streams, and valleys. It is the essence of Mount Yuntai, known as a "bonsai gorge" and a "gallery of natural landscapes." These well-known reputations highlight the extraordinary nature of this place.
Tangpu Gorge
Tanpu Waterfall Canyon, also known as Xiaozhaigou, features scenery reminiscent of the Jiangnan region in China. "One spring every three steps, one waterfall every five steps, and one pool every ten steps" vividly portrays the beautiful landscape of Tanpu Waterfall Canyon. The sound of water is turbulent, with streams and waterfalls cascading in pairs and clusters, creating a picturesque scene. The pleasant surroundings resemble the charming scenery of Jiangnan, hence it is also given the poetic nickname: Tanpu River.
Quanpu Gorge
Quanpu Xia, also known as Laotan Gou, has beautiful mountains and cascades. The YunTai Tian Waterfall, the highest waterfall in China with a drop of 314 meters, is located at the end of Quanpu Xia. In addition, there are other attractions such as Wulao Peak, Lugong, Qipin Zhima Guan, Xiandu, Kongque Spring, and Siyu Spring. Quanpu Xia is approximately 3 kilometers long, with towering peaks on both sides, creating a magnificent atmosphere. The mountains in the valley are like picturesque screens, the flowers and trees are like exquisite embroidery, and the clear stream flows at our feet. The combination of strange rocks, mountain springs, floral fragrances, and cascades creates a symphony in the valley.
Jujube Peak
Zhuque Peak, at an elevation of 1300 meters, is a holy place for literati, monks, and monasteries throughout history. The vegetation here is dense, with numerous ancient trees, including millennium-old trees such as Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Acer pentaphyllum, and Taihang flowers. The forest coverage rate is 93%, earning the title of a natural oxygen bar. Climbing the thousand-step cloud ladder trail to the 1300-meter-high Zhuque Peak, one can see continuous mountains, undulating peaks, giving people a sense of magnificence and the feeling of "being at the top and overlooking all the other mountains." The great Tang poet Wang Wei once climbed this peak and wrote the famous line, "On the 9th day of September, recalling my brothers in Shandong."
Zifang Lake, also known as Pinghu, is a picturesque lake with a size of 1500 mu and a length of approximately 4 kilometers. It is surrounded by green mountains and clear waters, creating a magnificent landscape. The lake got its name from Zhang Liang (courtesy name Zifang), who once trained soldiers day and night on the mountain peak to assist Liu Bang and made great contributions, and later settled down here.
