Less crowded and picturesque off-the-beaten-path tourist destinations in Chengdu

With Zhao Lei's popular song spreading throughout the country, Chengdu has transformed itself into an irreplaceable internet-famous city. However, what many people don't know is that besides well-known attractions like Kuanzhai Alley and Wuhou Temple, Chengdu also has many interesting off-the-beaten-path spots with very few tourists, yet they exhibit the unique charm of Chengdu.

Many tourists would say that Jinli and Kuanzhai Alley are the most vibrant parts of Chengdu. However, in the hearts of the old Chengdu residents, the small alleys are not inferior. This beautiful path, although only a few hundred meters long, represents the most beautiful side of Chengdu. It hides many ancient residences, which are the most typical buildings in Sichuan. Nowadays, besides the retro style, it has also become very artistic because there are many exquisite boutique shops. The attentive shop owners even carefully arrange flowers and plants at the store entrance, making it especially picturesque for taking photos.

People's Park

People's Park, established in 1911, is the first park in Chengdu. Today, it has become a popular leisure spot for locals to enjoy tea and play Mahjong. Visiting here allows you to experience the joyful "slow life" of Chengdu. It's best to blend in with the locals, have a cup of tea, read a book, and soak up the sun in the park's teahouse.

Lan Kwai Fong Chengdu Bar Street

As a typical representative of Chengdu's nightlife, Jiuyan Bridge is crowded with people, while Lan Kwai Fong is somewhat neglected. In fact, this is not a replica tourist spot but a bar area built with substantial investment from Lan Kwai Fong in Hong Kong. It can be said that here and Lan Kwai Fong in Hong Kong are sister areas. There aren't many people on weekdays, but there are even more on weekends.

Huahua Creek

If you have been to Du Fu Thatched Cottage, be sure to visit Huanhua Creek. It's right next to Du Fu Thatched Cottage, and you can see it by walking there. There are not many visitors usually, and the environment here is particularly tranquil, perfect for a leisurely stroll. Throughout history, many talented writers and poets have loved this place, leaving behind numerous timeless poems. Du Fu, known as the "Poet Sage," completed hundreds of poems here, showing how much inspiration this scenic spot brought him and leaving behind his most precious wealth.
This ancient path has significant historical significance and dates back to the Western Han Dynasty, commemorating the love and resentment between Zhuo Wenjun and Sima Xiangru. They used to buy wine here, which is why it got its name.

Sichuan Radio and Television Tower

The tower is a radio and television tower, similar to the Oriental Pearl Tower. It serves as both a broadcasting and television signal transmission station and a tourist attraction. Standing here, you can see the stunning view of Chengdu, and the ticket price is quite reasonable.

Fangsuo

Although Fangsuo bookstores are located throughout the country, the one in Chengdu has its unique characteristics, especially its interior design, which is particularly appealing. The ceiling is made of black sunken concrete, which looks very beautiful and has a strong industrial style.
