You only have 9 days and 8 nights, the time is short. Obviously, you have too many accommodations in LA. The holiday hotels in LA are relatively expensive, and it's not worth it to spend over a hundred dollars a night. You should just play around the Hollywood Walk of Fame on the day you pick up the car. If you've been there before, go straight to Las Vegas and stay at the Stratosphere Hotel. It's great for eating, gambling, and watching shows, and it's only $70 a night. The conditions are great, and there are various discounts for hotel guests. It's definitely worth it. After a few days in LV, head straight to Zion National Park, then to Arches National Park, Monument Valley, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, and then to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Then go back to the West Rim to see the Skywalk and take a helicopter ride. If you want to save money, skip the West Rim and take a look at the Hoover Dam. Then go back to LV for a day or two, and then return to LA overnight on the last day without staying. You'll save money on accommodation for one night and have five or six hours of driving time. It's perfect for getting some rest and adjusting to the time difference. I've been to all the national parks here, and the ones I mentioned are the best. They're even more stunning and strange than the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. If you're fast enough, you can add a day in Yosemite. Nine days should be enough. You can buy an $80 park pass to save money and time at the toll booths. The most expensive thing in the US is accommodation. You can take turns driving, and I suggest driving at night and playing during the day. Staying in a moving car is also good, and it saves time and money on long drives.
